The Mayor of Guadalajara Antonio Román, who attended the launch, highlighted the fleet’s CNG fuel system and said the use of this clean technology will reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and improve the environmental efficiency of urban transportation in Guadalajara.
All buses are equipped with two spaces for the disabled, one more than the vehicles that were replaced, and have automatic wheelchair ramp, Braille on stop buttons and specific stop messages for blind people both inside and the outside the units. Besides, the fleet offers free WiFi on board while the arrival times of vehicles will be available via SMS or via bluetooth at bus stops.
Roman also noted that the implementation of these buses is a further step towards the achievement of the main objective they pursued, which is making urban transportation more sustainable and convenient for passengers.
