AUVASA, the municipal public transport operator of the Valladolid City Council, presented 15 new Solaris Urbino 12 CNG buses. These vehicles, which will reduce the average age of the fleet to 11.6 years, will provide service on the circular line, the second with the highest number of passengers transported in the AUVASA network, with nearly 2,740,000 trips in 2021.
The incorporation of these 15 buses represents the biggest boost to public transport since the AUVASA renovation plan began in 2020. The investment of more than 5.6 million euros will seek to modernize the municipal company’s fleet, which will be completed by 2024 with 57 new vehicles.
Manufactured by Solaris in a period of eight months, the buses have the most modern technology, both in terms of features and equipment, and have the new corporate image of AUVASA. They are 12 meters long, powered by CNG, with a unit cost of 312,900 euros.
The presentation of the new fleet was attended by the mayor of Valladolid Oscar Puente, the Councilor for Mobility and Urban Space Luis Vélez, and the Manager of AUVASA Álvaro Fernández, as well as representatives of Solaris.
