One of the main consequences of the growth of e-commerce and the rise of very urgent deliveries (one or two hours) is their environmental impact on the air quality of large cities. However, urban logistics can, and should be, sustainable. SEUR is firmly committed to achieving environmentally-friendly deliveries and therefore has completely integrated, in its RSC DrivingChangeTM strategy, different initiatives to achieve an urban distribution that respects the environment and society.
One example of SEUR’s commitment is its investment in an eco-friendly fleet, which has expanded with the addition of 100 Fiat Professional vehicles that run on natural gas. It is the largest CNG fleet sold to date by Fiat Professional in Spain. The new Fiat Fiorino will be used to carry out the most urgent deliveries in Madrid and Barcelona, allowing the company to make a sustainable distribution, which is also respectful with the air quality in the cities.
SEUR already makes 170,000 deliveries per month with alternative means and fuels, reducing its CO2 emissions by 16% per package delivered. Currently, SEUR’s alternative fuel fleet is present in more than 25 Spanish cities, including Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, San Sebastian and Malaga.
In addition, SEUR’s commitment to sustainable delivery is not limited to its clean fuel vehicles, but it has also invested in urban hubs, smaller logistics centers, located in the heart of cities, allowing the company to be closer to the recipients and shorten the distances, thus minimizing the CO2 emissions of last mile.
