“With this acquisition we further demonstrate that our company opts for new technologies as part of its policy to become more environmentally friendly. Initially, our idea is to use the new trucks for nationwide hauling adapting ourselves to the current fueling infrastructure in our country,” said José Antonio Sanz, Vice President of Grupo Sesé.
The Iveco Stralis features a cryogenic tank with 567 liters of LNG stored at 16 bar and at a temperature of 130° C. It is also equipped with four 70-liter gas cylinders at 220 bars. This offer a range of 750 kilometers, 650 thanks to LNG, which fuels the vehicle under normal conditions along the route, and 100 corresponding to CNG, which is usually used for small maneuvers.
Moreover, Jaime Baquedano, Sales Director of Iveco Spain, commented: “This delivery confirms that natural gas is the medium-term future. We hope that customers gradually understand the use of this technology will mean great savings in fuel consumption, thereby improving their operating costs.”
