All Kaufmann, Metrogas and Autogasco companies met a few days ago to present the first fleet of Sprinter NGT, which has been introduced by Chilexpress.
100% developed in Germany and running on natural gas and benzene, the van built by Mercedes-Benz offers high performance and less pollution because it uses CNG as a fuel. It can achieve a driving range of over 200 km and can access the center of Santiago City at any time.
To encourage the use of these environmentally friendly vehicles, Metrogas offers a “Green Voucher” on natural gas, which can be redeemed at any Autogasco fueling station, to the first 10 customers that purchase the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter NGT. The promotion will run until May 30, 2015.
Rodrigo Sepúlveda, manager of Buses and Vans Division at Kaufmann, stated: “We are taking a big step in providing real tools to mitigate the carbon footprint and support national economy’s sustainable growth by adding this natural gas vehicle to the wide range of options we offer.”
During the launch ceremony, Kaufmann, Metrogas and Autogasco recognized Chilexpress as the first company in Chile to begin to build an eco-friendly fleet. “The addition of this technology in our fleet seeks further progress in our sustainability program, whose main focus is the environment. These new vehicles, which reduce the greenhouse gases emissions by 40% and virtually emit no particulate matter, help us to meet the environmental goals we have defined,” said Alfonso Diaz, Chilexpress general manager.
