The company already made previous demonstrations of its equipment using gas output from the San Antonio gas field of the Philippine National Oil Company-Exploration Corporation. ?Energtek can be a CNG supplier and even technology provider,? informed Department of Energy (DOE) director Jesus Tamang.
Currently, the firm is in the process of introducing its technology on natural gas-run tricycles in the Metropolitan area of Manila and in Batangas. Tamang detailed Energtek has started presenting the technology they plan to use on the natural gas from the Isabela onshore gas field.
Regarding Energtek?s system, they offer a ?CNG Lite? conversion with a complete energy-supply solution for small vehicles that are powered by its Absorbed Natural Gas (ANG) technology. It enables a modern and cost-effective storage of the gas by taking full advantage of the quantities of the fluid stored in a tank.
The firm said its technology will not only provide cheaper fuel for tricycles but also substantially reduce the pollution they produce, as it minimizes levels of carbon dioxide to 0.6 percent from 4 percent, or a reduction of 85 percent.
Energtek also plans to expand trials for its CNG Lite system to other parts of the country to further encourage conversions of public transport to natural gas. In addition, there are intentions to promote infrastructure, including for natural gas pipelines and refuelling stations.
