The first batch was delivered to a private Venezuelan cooperative and meets requirements for the environmental-friendly standard Euro-4. Buses are equipped with Cummins engines and have Allison automatic gearbox.
Two of the buses were made by Likinos LIAZ factory as a part of its first CNG buses mass production.
The other vehicle, PAZ-4234, has been specially adjusted to Venezuela’s tropical climate and has been tested in the mountainous region of southern Russia where conditions are similar to Caracas’ weather.
Besides the introduction of CNG in public transportation, Hugo Chavez’s government will be launching a project that will allow Venezuela to manufacture its own CNG equipment.
