“The domestic manufacture of natural gas vehicles enables public passenger transporters to reduce their cost of vehicle investment in comparison of an import of CBU vehicles. This has significantly contributed to the development of local public transportation and environmental protection; and at the same time cut down on foreign currencies spent on imports,” said Nguyen Hong Anh, Samco General Director.
The launching of this environment-friendly vehicle will also help support a 300 CNG bus project in 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City, according to Duong Hong Thanh, Deputy Director of the City Department of Transport. The HMC City Transport Cooperative Union has already signed a contract to purchase the City H.75 CNG bus displayed at the ceremony.
Furthermore, the other two natural gas buses unveiled are the City J.47 and the City J.61. Both models are made of imported components and with the technology transferred from JAC Motor, and meet Euro 3 emission standard.
