ADNOC’s executive also stated that a total of six natural gas stations, including the Khalifa ‘A’ pumps, have so far been built as part of a plan to install 16 CNG refuelling facilities across the UAE (ten in Abu Dhabi, two in Al Ain and four in Sharjah), reported state news agency WAM.
The project also involves the building of nine conversion workshops. “We expect that by the end of 2012, around 25 percent of the government vehicles will be switched to run on compressed natural gas,” Al Dhaheri added.
