The governor of Córdoba Juan Schiaretti launched the CNG filling station owned by Baralle & Ghio in the town of Serrezuela in the Cruz del Eje Department. “We are inaugurating the result of the effort that all the people of Córdoba made when we took the decision to build the trunk gas pipelines. This allowed us to reach every corner of the province with natural gas,” said Schiaretti.
Within the framework of the “Conectar Gas Industria” program and thanks to an investment of more than 68 million pesos, the firm will be able to generate an estimated annual saving of 26,544,000 pesos. “I thank the owners for having invested here in Serrezuela, on the border with La Rioja, betting on its people, on this town in our beloved Córdoba. I am sure that they will do very well because it is strategically located,” said the governor.
With this connection, there are already 30 new CNG refueling businesses throughout the province launched after the completion of the gas pipeline network. Since January 3, 2019, when the Trunk Gas Pipelines work was completed, 353 companies and eight industrial parks accessed the service. This made it possible to secure 11,115 jobs and generate another 1,411 new ones. In less than three years, 30 CNG stations were installed in different parts of the Córdoba.
The internal work to complete the new CNG station required 150 meters of pipeline from the distribution network. In addition, a compressor and two dispensers, manufactured by Galileo Technologies, were installed. “This work will benefit the citizens of Serrezuela, but also those who travel long distances because we are a border town,” said the mayor of Serrezuela Ricardo Martín.
The local official stressed that the gas and electricity infrastructure “guarantees that there may be entrepreneurs who want to invest in the area and make this town develop and grow.” The filling station created employment for 10 workers during the connection, and will incorporate 12 new jobs for the dispensing of CNG.
The new facility will benefit users from Serrezuela, Tuclame, Paso Viejo to Villa de Soto, and towns in the neighboring departments. Inhabitants of nearby towns in the province of La Rioja will also be able to use this service.
Furthermore, with the connection to natural gas through the “Conectar Gas Industria” program, the environment is also favored: the accumulated carbon footprint was reduced by 11.5%.
