Within the framework of the ‘Conectar Gas Industria’ Program, the Governor of the Province of Córdoba Juan Schiaretti participated in the inauguration of the New Shell Station Malagueño Servicios S.A. The commercial establishment that was connected to natural gas will add a total of 200 jobs and will have an estimated annual savings of $ 2,346,000, after making an investment in the natural gas facilities of $ 2,800,000. The firm made a total investment of $ 75,000,000. With this, there are already 14 new service stations connected to the gas pipeline in the province.
The governor highlighted as fundamental the generation of employment as a result of the contribution of the private sector. “It is important that the people of Cordoba continue to bet on the future, let’s continue to bet on investment, as it is the only thing that generates employment, and employment gives people a decent life,” he said. At the same time, he pointed out the benefit that the venture will perceive when connecting to natural gas: “That is why we built the trunk gas pipelines, because we are convinced that it will be the cheap fuel for the next decade.”
For his part, the owner of the project, Victorio Righetti, indicated that access to natural gas defined the investment made. He also stressed the importance of the project as it is in “a strategic place, in a road junction between valleys, it is the strategic place between neighborhoods. The undertaking goes beyond the service station and aims at an integrated service station for the entire Malagueño and Greater Córdoba area, especially relevant in the tourist season.”
Minister of Public Services Fabián López explained that there are 113 companies surveyed that have the feasibility of connecting to natural gas, and 10 of these firms have already been connected.
In turn, he specified that the inaugurated natural gas connection is in a strategic location that is growing: “Of the 14 CNG stations that have been connected in the province of Córdoba, seven are from here, from the Greater Córdoba area, and this is precisely one of them, which has allowed it not only to have CNG for vehicle use, but also for all the other undertakings that are being developed here.”
So far, there are already 63 companies, three industrial parks and 14 CNG stations throughout the province that have been connected to the network through the ‘Conectar Gas Industria’ Program.
