After Munich, Augsburg is the second city in the state to use biomethane in cooperation with VERBIO AG. Claus Sauter, CEO of the company, stated that they want to increase their production capacity and convert Germany’s entire natural gas station network to the new green fuel.
Regarding technology, Stadtwerke Augsburg CEO, Claus Gebhardt explained: “In contrast to E10 petrol, biomethane does not have any effects in terms of engine performance or engine wear”.
It is important to note that its quality is as good as natural gas and can also be used in all NGVs without restrictions.
