By 2014, DATS 24 expects to grow its CNG refueling network in Belgium. With the planned (re)opening of facilities in Schoten, Zaventem, Lochristi, Kontich and Lier (end 2013, beginning 2014) and the projects in Overijse and Lovendegem by 2014, the company will operate 14 filling stations offering natural gas.
DATS 24 breaks out of the chicken-and-egg problem and seeks national coverage for natural gas stations. An application to install a CNG pump in the station of Loncin has also been introduced. This would be the start of the expansion to Wallonia.
In Belgium, natural gas for vehicles is up to 40% cheaper than the traditional fuels.
