Oruro’s commercial manager from the state-owned oil company (YPFB, in its Spanish acronym), Gilmar Cruz, estimates that the station will approximately sell 150,000 cubic meters of CNG per month. The official explained that 20 percent from the total revenue obtained by natural gas sales will be earmarked for the NGV Conversion Program fund and for the cylinders upgrading.
Regarding “San Pedro” station, the characteristics are similar to those of “Morela,” said Cruz, as published by La Patria newspaper.
In addition to the expansion of the natural gas vehicles supply network, the national NGV Conversion Program has reached 12,000 vehicles so far this year. In its first phase, which lasted until June, 7,000 units were converted into CNG system, whereas during the second phase launched in October, 5,000 kits have been installed.
“Over the last weeks of October, the program has increased its activity due to the wide promotion of the plan and the registration of new conversion centers,” reported Carlos Asport, the managing director of the Executing Agency of Compressed Natural Gas national program.
