The City Council has recently set an example by acquiring two natural gas vehicles (Opel Combo and Ford Transit) to promote CNG as an environmentally friendly fuel.
Volkswagen, Opel, Ford and Mercedes are the automotive manufactures that are currently offering brand new vehicles powered by natural gas. “A local government may also contribute significantly towards the emissions reduction by acting as an example and play a pioneering role with new innovative applications,” Dirk de Kort explained.
It is noteworthy that Brussels opened its first CNG refuelling station on June 14. The facility is operated by DATS 24.
