“The logistics sector has an important role to play if the UK is to meet its European carbon reduction targets. We are committed to reducing the carbon emissions associated with storing and distributing our customers’ products,” said Catherine Crouch, Group Environment Director at Howard Tenens.
Other initiative to reduce polluting emissions is the recent partnership undertaken by the company along with Gloucestershire-based Downton. This joint venture is expected to cut Howard Tenens’ miles travelled and fuel costs, as the firm will operate “more environmentally friendly” in and around London by having access to each other’s fleets and pools of local subcontractors, according to Ben Morris from Howard Tenens.
