In a clear commitment to energy transition in the field of mobility, which should be fast and organized at the same time, the Government of Castilla-La Mancha will launch a Regional Sustainable Mobility Strategy in the next term. This was announced by the President of the autonomous community, Emiliano García-Page, as part of the inauguration of the first natural gas station in the region, located in Santa Cruz de Mudela (Ciudad Real).
This Mobility Strategy has two axes of action: serving SMEs, municipalities and families to improve energy efficiency (with natural gas, hydrogen and electricity), and carry out an exemplary action of the administration. The goal is to encourage the installation of alternative fuel refueling stations. Castilla-La Mancha has already allocated more than 10 million euros in aids for savings and energy efficiency, the acquisition of efficient vehicles, the establishment of refueling points and the promotion of self-consumption for more than 4,500 municipalities, companies and individuals in the region.
The natural gas station opened in Santa Cruz de Mudela is located at the foot of the highway, something very important for the transport sector, and has four refueling lanes: two for LNG and two for CNG. The facility is a joint management of Endesa and Transcentro Marín that seeks to facilitate the refueling of the company’s NGV fleet, while also serving other public and private vehicles.
Natural gas is the real and economic alternative that reduces dependence on petroleum fuels in all segments of mobility: short and long distance road transport, marine and rail. In this sense, the Iberian Peninsula has witnessed a continuous and robust growth in terms of the adoption of CNG and LNG as transportation fuels.
In this extremely encouraging scenario, AltFuels Iberia 2019 will take place on 11-14 June at IFEMA Trade Center, Madrid. It will be an event consisting of first level conferences and exhibition of vehicles of all kinds, refueling stations, components, plants, road and marine engines, as well as the entire universe of the alternative fuels industry with the latest technological developments, multiple options for networking, business and new advances.
