The companies are also working to make CNG available in other cities, apart from Trujillo. Currently, they are jointly operating in Chimbote, in the country’s northwest coast, where the companies serve SiderPerú, and will be soon opening the new CNG station in Piura. Besides, they plan to get to Chiclayo by installing another fueling site and continue adding other projects that will benefit both public transport and private vehicles.
The provincial mayor of Trujillo César Acuña Peralta expressed his unconditional support for local companies to develop their project and bring natural gas to the north.
In addition, Víctor Hugo del Carpio, manager at Metropolitan Transport of Trujillo (TMT), said: “Clean Energy Peru will bring natural gas for vehicles to Trujillo. This company has already defined the location of their lot and the project is expected be executed between February and March next year. Now they are negotiating licenses with the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC)”.
