“This new EPM station demonstrates the company’s commitment towards the widespread use of natural gas vehicles in the city and the Aburrá Valley, in line with the sustainable mobility program enacted by the Mayor of Medellin,” said EPM general manager and Group leader, Juan Esteban Calle Restrepo.
Since the Colombian public utility entered NGV market last year, it has opened nine of the total 59 CNG refueling stations operational in the Aburrá Valley. At their facilities, customers can pay both utility bills and NGV finance charge.
Within the concept of sustainable mobility, which aims to boost the use of environmentally friendly fuels, EPM offers services such as CNG filling stations with its own brand and vehicle conversions from petrol to natural gas in exclusive partnership with Suragas, Gasexpress and Eurogas. The company has also launched the Green Benefits Program, which rewards NGV drivers with an amount of points accumulated to be exchanged for free fuel refilling, among other possibilities.
