Three years ago, SGN formally began its operations in connection with natural gas business, through its compression plant located in the Puerto Multimodal Caucedo. Recently, in mid-January, the company opened several fueling stations in the capital city. The opening ceremony of one of them was attended by the country’s First Lady Margarita Cedeño de Fernández.
At the Exhibition that takes place these days in the Dominican Republic, SGN discloses a fifth-generation natural gas conversion equipment technology. At the same time, BHD, Santa Cruz, Popular, Promerica and Credicefi banks offer financing for CNG conversion, Diario Libre published two days ago.
It is important to mention that the first Cibao region’s natural gas refueling station located in an Isla facility in the city of Santiago was opened last week. A few months ago, the National Unified Transportation Union (CNTU) inaugurated a conversion center in the same city.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce recently revealed that there are 4,000 NGVs in operation across this Caribbean nation.
