Located in Piacenza, the facility is the first in a series that the energy company intends to put into operation over the next four years along major Italian roads and is part of its commitment to promoting the use of environmentally friendly fuels through innovative, high-tech solutions.
Eni is an active participant of the European “LNG Blue Corridors” project, which is focused on the construction of alternative fuel stations along four major European trade routes, which cross the continent from north to south. The Piacenza facility opened today represents the high standard Eni intends to meet its clean energy strategy.
Iveco, which also took part of the station opening, has engine units that are already designed to run on LNG, a fuel that is ideal for the heavy duty truck market and to transport goods over long distances.
