In addition, five CNG filling stations, including a primary station, a standard station and three secondary stations, will be built during this year, with a total of 12 CNG dispensers expected to be installed in Xiamen within three years.
On the other hand, 300 natural gas buses will be introduced during this year, according to Xiamen Bus Group. The first batch of 50 King Long CNG buses -from Xiamen’s King Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd- will be also put into service in August.
According to Xiamen Bus Group, more than 1,000 CNG buses are expected to be put into use in the next few years in Xiamen, nearly half of the total number of buses in the city, while 50 percent of the city diesel-fueled buses will be replaced by natural gas-fuelled units within three to five years.
The new units -of 10.5 meters long and with a continuous driving range of 400 kilometers- will be green-coloured representing the use of clean energy as emissions of new buses meet National III Emission Standard.
