The increase of CNG offer was from 80 to 400 m3/hr, and was performed through Semavert, another Semardel’s subsidiary and a non-hazardous waste storage facility with a capacity of 220,000 t/ year.
Semaer has a natural gas powered fleet of eight hydraulic-arm trucks and 13 refuse collection vehicles, and expects to acquire more of these units to improve the service while meeting environmental standards -regarding transportation and quality of life- and inclusion of renewable energy.
As part of its industrial projects, Semardel plans to install a biogas plant on its Ecosite that will produce natural gas directly from biodegradable waste. This renewable fuel derived from a local resource will eventually feed Semaer’s truck fleet.
