The new filling station will be initially used by the company Eurocam and, in the short term, is expected to refuel long-distance truck fleets due to its “privileged location” in the A-1 highway. Moreover, according to Gas Natural Fenosa, in the future it could supply municipal bus fleets, reported news agency EFE.
The initiative is part of the GARnet project, which proposes the use of natural gas in road transportation as an alternative to oil. The European program evaluates the best technological and economic alternatives to develop a network of LNG fueling.
Therefore, there are plans to install four LNG fixed stations and three mobile in Spain, which will serve to test the technologies with greatest potential, that will be distributed at a suitable distance so trucks can refuel properly.
