“With this type of energy produced from local renewable resources, we are strengthening our own economy and creating successful regional cycles,” said Gasag’s board member Andreas Prohl.
Schwedt resources are recovered, recycled and upgraded to biomethane, which is fed into the grid of EWE Netz GmbH, and then directly transported to the consumer. Among other uses, it will be delivered to Gasag’s natural gas stations in the German capital city, where about 20% of CNG fueling points already offer biomethane.
It is worth mentioning that in Augsburg, state of Bavaria, there are four filling stations commercializing 100% biomethane, which is provided by natural gas producer Verbio AG and distributed by Stadtwerke Augsburg.
