“Investing in more environmentally friendly natural gas stations makes Gazprom a major contributor to the development of ecological mobility in Germany,” said Vyacheslav Krupenkov, chief executive of Gazprom Germania GmbH, which has contracted Erdgas Mobil to expand the fueling infrastructure in the Greater Berlin area.
Furthermore, the German association has been very active part in the development of the country’s station network and has already implemented some 480 projects, equivalent to more than half of all CNG stations in Germany. For 2012, 25 new pumps are planned to open.
Olaf Rumberg, director of Erdgas Mobil, said about Gazprom Germania’s investment: “It shows that such a concept is successful and that there is another big company that wants to increase their commitment in this area.”
