“We are delighted that Langenfeld’s CNG cars will be even greener in future since they will be running on 100% biomethane made from waste. And the best thing is that it won’t cost them a penny more. We hope that even more people in our region will switch to natural gas cars and we organize special events where we explain the advantages of doing so. We also give €1,500 to anyone in Langenfeld who buys an NGV or has their vehicle converted to natural gas,” said Kersten Kerl, CEO of Stadtwerke Langenfeld.
Verbio, which is continuing to expand its biomethane distribution across the country, expects than more and more German municipalities and public utilities switch to pure biomethane made solely from agricultural residues such as straw.
“That is good for the environment and the local quality of life. And it proves that our distribution strategy is taking off. We are focusing on serving the municipal utilities in Germany, and we’re vindicated by the growing number of contracts,” said Claus Sauter, CEO of Verbio.
