“We already supply more than 60 natural gas filling stations throughout Germany with verbiogas. More and more German stations and fleets of public vehicles are switching over entirely to our biomethane. And with Verbio being so deeply rooted in the region, the fact that we now also supply the majority of natural gas filling stations in Leipzig is an especially important signal for us,” said Claus Sauter, CEO of Verbio.
Moreover, Thomas Prauße, CEO of Stadtwerke Leipzig, added: “We are a company which is deeply aware of its responsibility to mankind, the region and the environment. That’s why we back sustainable solutions. Our aim is to increase the quality of life of people in Leipzig, and reducing CO2 emissions plays a big part in this.”
Verbiogas is made solely from agricultural waste such as straw. It does not therefore compete with food production or entail unacceptable side-effects. Since verbiogas has the same chemical structure and quality as natural gas, it can be blended with it in any ratio and safely used in all NGVs.
