In addition, motorists in Berlin are now also able to fill up with biomethane thanks to the presence of two of VNG’s filling stations in the city. One is close to the German parliament or Bundestag, where a few months ago a quarter of the car fleet was converted to natural gas.
“Verbiogas is enjoying outstanding acceptance thanks to its availability at filling stations and use by public-sector vehicle pools, and sales are rising,” highlighted Claus Sauter, CEO of Verbio. “These additional natural gas stations, above all in Berlin, boost our potential sales. The contract with VNG is the beginning of lasting cooperation in this important future market.”
Verbio now supplies biomethane to nearly 50 CNG filling stations throughout Germany. Compared to conventional fuels, its CO2 emissions are up to 90% lower, which makes a substantial contribution to protecting the environment.
