Besides, the conversion of taxis into natural gas system will be also encouraged for taxis running throughout the Mexican metropolis.
The strategies to be implemented within the period 2011-2020 consists of 35 actions, due to which it is expected that greenhouse emissions will be reduced by up to 50% in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara. “The actions are focus on a new state-wide environmental standard in order to control gasoline stations vapours,” said David Parra Romero, managing director of Air Quality from the Ministry of Environment for Sustainable Development (Semades, as in its Spanish acronym).
