The two facilities are located in Jarama and La Junquera, strategic and important locations for road transportation in Spain, and will help Galp Energia become pioneer in the market since no gasoline station operator offers this alternative fuel in Spain.
For the construction of these fueling sites, Galp established a partnership with HAM. The aim is to promote the use of CNG and LNG with a lower consumption and improved emissions, generating a great benefit compared to other fuels.
Furthermore, the installation of these natural gas dispensers emphasizes the consolidation of this type of fuel, which is more competitive and environmentally friendly. The two new fueling stations will become operational by the end of the year and will mainly service heavy vehicles, but may also refuel cars.
The agreement signing ceremony was held at Galp Energia offices in Alcobendas, Madrid, between Galp’s manager in Spain Nuno Moreira da Cruz and president of HAM Group Antonio Murugó.
Moreira da Cruz said that “the construction of these two NGV sites strengthens Galp’s multienergy profile and confirms its pioneering role in Spain.” Meanwhile, Murugó added: “This new agreement makes Galp the first oil company in Spain to publicly invest in the development of natural gas for vehicle use at its service stations.”
