SWN station, open 24 hours a day, is located in the city of Damascus, Arkansas, and currently has three pumps with six dispensers. “One of the biggest benefits of the natural gas at our station is that it comes directly from the Fayetteville Shale, which means it is domestically produced. We are able to capture that resource, use it to fuel our fleet and provide this valued source of energy to other Arkansans,” said SWN president and CEO Steve Mueller.
Arkansas has four CNG refuelling stations, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicles Data Center. Fort Smith is currently home to the state’s only other public facility, while the city of North Little Rock is also expected to open its own compressed natural gas pump in the upcoming months.
Furthermore, Northeast Ohio Natural Gas is planning to install a CNG station along Ohio State Route 37 by the end of the year, as said by the company’s operations manager Jeff Heidnik. “We are looking for fleet customers as our base at first,” he added. However, the station would expand to individual customers.
