By launching these 18 new refuelling facilities for NGVs across Iran, the CNG distribution capacity has raised to more than 1.5 million cubic meters per hour. Moreover, the figure will increase after the launch of new ones by the end of March, when the number reaches the 1,750 dispensing points.
In addition, Niopdc managing director Farid Ameri informed that the Islamic Republic is also intending to define standards on building and setting up CNG pumps in cooperation with the private sector and scientific centres.
Earlier this year, the country announced its plans to become the world leader in terms of the highest number of CNG stations as well as in CNG consumption, by 2015. As reported by the Iranian Petroenergy Information Network (Shana), Ameri expects to reach the milestone by the end of the country’s “Fifth Five-Year Development Plan”.
