Currently, there are three CNG stations in Sectors 53, 62 and 63 in Noida, one of the most modern cities of Uttar Pradesh state, reported local media Hindustan Times. “Another facility is ready at Sector 82 and we are awaiting clearances from the ministry. Besides, we have made arrangements at four petrol pumps in the city, where natural gas dispensers are expected to be operational in the next few months,” said an IGL spokesperson.
“In addition, the authority has allotted five more sites (in sectors 71, 51, 105, 122 and 142) to us. Over 50 per cent work has been completed at the Sector 71 station, while work at the other sites has also started. We have planned to make these stations operational by 2011-end,” the spokesperson added.
On the other hand, MNGL new CNG station, located in Pune’s area of Shivajinagar (Maharashtra State), will also provide piped natural gas to around 10,000 households in a few prime areas of the city in the next six to 12 months and will supersede existing stations that currently receive natural gas through light commercial vehicles from the main supply station at Narveer Tanaji Wadi depot, as reported by Times of India.
Furthermore, according to Pune Mirror, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) of Pune has decided to install three more CNG pumps in Baner, Mundhwa and Magarpatta areas next month.
