Several international agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoU) were recently signed during the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2020). The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and affiliated companies inked the deals during the three-day show, reflecting great potential and promising opportunities of the Egyptian energy sector as well as confidence of major international companies in the country’s economy.
Among these partnerships, a consortium of Egyptian companies including the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), the Egyptian International Gas Technology (Gastec), and the Natural Gas Vehicles Company (CAR GAS) signed two deals with the Italian company Landi Renzo for the assembly of natural gas stations and the components needed for converting vehicles to run on CNG in Egypt.
These projects also expect to promote Landi Renzo’s technology for Diesel Dual Fuel (Ddf) conversions of minibuses and buses and to provide its support for the conversion of brand-new vehicles of the main car manufacturers, their importers and fleet managers operating in Egypt.
Safe & Cec srl, a company owned by Landi Renzo, has also signed a contract with these companies to develop a pilot project for the assembly of compressors and dispensers, with the aim of supporting the growth of the natural gas refueling network in Egypt. The memorandum of understanding is preliminary to the establishment of a joint venture between Landi Renzo and the local gas companies.
