Naturgy put into operation a new natural gas station for vehicles in Seville, specifically in the municipality of Dos Hermanas. It is the company’s second station in the province of Seville and the sixth in Andalusia, and is strategically located on the National IV highway at kilometer 554, next to the Seat Surmovil dealer.
The facility, which has a double hose pump for refueling CNG vehicles, is part of the expansion plan of the station network promoted by Naturgy, which includes encouraging the use of natural gas in transportation through innovation projects, development of infrastructure and promotion of NGVs.
In addition to this new CNG station, Naturgy has another five more sites in Andalusia, located in Seville, Granada, Jerez de la Frontera, Antequera and Guarromán, and is expanding its refueling network to 40 stations throughout Spain
The new map of natural gas refueling points in Spain will make it possible to meet the increase in demand in the coming years and strengthen the availability of this fuel in the market, given the increase that natural gas vehicles are experiencing.
According to data from GASNAM (Iberian Association of Natural Gas for Mobility), the fleet of natural gas vehicles continues to grow in Spain and closed 2019 with 22,814 units, 60% more than in 2018. Vehicles that use this fuel get the ECO label of the General Directorate of Traffic, which allows them to benefit from free accessibility to city centers in periods of restrictions due to high pollution episodes, tax incentives and discounts in regulated parking areas, among other advantages.
