“Consumers will be greatly benefited from this partnership, since Primax not only has an extensive experience in the operation and management of refueling stations nationwide, but also it is a brand noted for the quality of its products and service excellence,” said Gascop general manager, Edgar Sánchez Dávila, as reported by El Regional de Piura.
Besides the opening of its second refueling station in Piura, Gascop started a campaign to promote the conversion to natural gas in the area. As part of the initiative, the company offers discount vouchers of S/.500 soles (nearly USD 200) in associated workshops for those drivers interested in switching into CNG system.
As a result of this campaign, executives expect that the number of NGVs in the region will increase 50 percent by the end of the year. Primax and Gascop intend to build a natural gas development center along with the provinces of Talara, Sullana and Paita within the next three years, in order to form the nation’s largest natural gas station network by the second half of 2013, according to a report published by Revista Proyecta.
