Minister Merino revealed that the Peruvian Government analyzes the possibility of establishing a Public-Private Partnership to buy the refueling stations, which are planned to be operated by the state-owned company Petroperú. In an interview with Radio Programas del Perú (RPP), the official informed that his office is waiting for a response from Repsol on the decision regarding the selling of its assets because “the Peruvian State is interested in the filling station business,” EFE reported.
The minister argued that the interest in the distribution and sale of natural gas for vehicles in the country’s interior lies in matching Lima’s market conditions. “We want the end user to benefit from the hydrocarbons national policy,” he added.
