On April 16, the Regional Council unanimously approved entitling the regional president of Huancavelica Maciste Díaz Abad to sign a concession contract for 20 years to be awarded to Empresa Transportadora de Gas Natural Comprimido Andino (TGNA). The public CNG refueling site will be installed in a 2,019 square meter area located in Callqui Chico Regional Directorate of Agriculture.
Thus, Huancavelica took a major step towards the expansion of natural gas for vehicles, said the regional president. “A refueling station is needed in order to bring natural gas to Huancavelica, that is because 1,000 NGVs will be served in a first phase,” said Díaz Abad. In a second phase, 4,000 homes will be supplied with natural gas in the city.
To promote the widespread use of natural gas in Huancavelica and the central region of Peru, Huancavelica Regional Government and the Federal Ministry of Energy and Mining have signed a framework agreement that orders the Regional Government to provide with all necessary elements to achieve that goal. “In this sense, it was necessary that the Regional Council allows regional administration to sign this contract,” added Díaz Abad
