Peru: PGN opened three new natural gas refuelling stations in just a month

The company’s 35th and 36th stations already opened, which are know as El Ovalo and Gambetta respectively, are located in the district of Callao. Unlike other CNG stations, Gambetta has a fast-filling pump, specially designed to provide fuel for public transport buses. As a result, these vehicles will be able to complete its refuelling process in less than 10 minutes.

In addition, PGN takes advantage of mobile gas pipeline system, which thereby allows spreading the service around areas not reached by conventional natural gas pipelines. This is how natural gas is provided to El Ovalo site, which is the first station in the district of Callao and the second one owned by the company that operates by means of mobiles gas pipelines system.

Overall, PGN network covers 18 districts of Lima Metropolitan Area and Callao with its own CNG stations, which are located in the districts of Cercado de Lima, San Juan de Lurigancho, Breña, La Victoria, Los Olivos, La Molina and San Miguel, and also has 10 stations owned by PECSA, who is one of PGN’s shareholders. Besides that, PGN also participates in the operation of 14 additional stations owned by independent investors.
