“Monfort is a clear example of the effort and is one of the leading companies in the region that have opted for natural gas to power its fleet, betting on a cleaner fuel and reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere,” said Cejalvo.
For more than three years, the company that offers road haulage services has been making investments in the country’s natural gas supplying infrastructure, reported newspaper El Mundo. Several of its projects were funded by the Valencian Energy Agency (Aven), which belongs to the Generalitat and that awarded more than 200 thousand euros.
Among these initiatives, it is worth mentioning the LNG conversion of three Renault Premium trucks with 400 hp in 2007. Two years later, Transportes Monfort invested in a public filling station for natural gas vehicles, which was also supported by the Aven.
