The upcoming CNG station will serve private and municipal vehicles, including transit and refuse collection fleets, which will be powered by natural gas, according to the new specification.
The main advantages this public-private partnership will bring consist of saving 30% in fuel consumption and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The deadline for the commissioning of the station is six months as from the definitive award. The site is expected to come into operation during the spring of 2013 and its construction has been possible due to the transfer of a city-owned lot located in Méjico street for a concession period of 15 years.
