Spanish logistics association promotes supply of alternative fuels for heavy trucks

The project expects to ease the supply of natural gas (LNG and CNG), LPG and hydrogen, as well as to develop stations for electric vehicles and battery recovery service. The refueling sites will be installed at the CTL located in major transportation corridors, reported local newspaper La Opinión de Zamora.

It also includes the strategic use of CTL with the purpose of creating an alternative fuel network that is committed to reducing carbon emissions, and “that in the near future will result in a lower tax burden.” The centers are expected to lead the implementation of these technologies and to promote the reduction of excessive external dependence on traditional fuels. CTB manager estimated that the minimum investment in Benavente logistics sector will involve around 55,000 euros.

Regarding natural gas supply, the project will develop filling stations whose investment will be afforded by the fuel supplier. The CTB will provide planning and staff to serve heavy duty vehicles. The fuel supplier will give to the CTB an annual fee of 2 percent on fuel sales.
