By the end of this year, the firm anticipates that it will convert about 30 per cent of its trucks to CNG, which eventually can be refuelled overnight.
“The more committed that we become to natural gas, the more clearly we have seen its benefits”, said John Griffith, president of Alpine Waste. “Our natural gas trucks burn fuel more cleanly and more quietly, and it is a Colorado resource, meaning that we are helping the state’s economy.”
In turn, James Orsulak, regional sales manager for Clean Energy Fuels, commended Alpine for its willingness to explore the benefits of natural gas and commit to it so emphatically.
“Alpine is on the leading edge of this technology, proving that a medium-sized business can employ natural gas in a safe, efficient, cost-effective manner at this elevation. We believe other Denver-area companies will soon follow their example.”
