President of Wise Gas Christine Slager explained that they would typically launch a new station with a grand opening and media event to showcase the model. However, as there is not another public access station in the region today, they decided to change their plans.
“We’ve had to modify our project to get NGVs fueled before focusing on appearance. Our customers need to be able to refuel immediately, after all they are supporting the natural gas vehicle industry with their choice,” she added.
The brand-new facility -located in the city of Fort Lauderdale- will be operational 24 hours each day, 7 days a week and it is incorporating a back-up generator program to ensure that the station can function in the case of losing power or a storm. The company is also developing a privately branded Wise Gas Fuel Card for individual NGV owners.
Wise Gas project also includes expanding the capacity of the CNG station in a near future in order to assist “the many requests from local fleet,” said Louis Herring, Wise Gas General Manager.
