Specifically, with the updated software, drivers will have the complete information of journeys made when running on CNG -like the mileage covered, the quantity of fuel used and the cost of the drive-, which will be compared to an identical journey made running on gasoline. The aim is to provide an objective view of the benefits obtained.
The new EcoDrive application will be available for all vehicles fitted with Blue&Me –a multimedia system based on the Windows Mobile for automotive platform- and will be free of charge. Users will be able to download it from www.fiat.com/ecoDrive.
According to the firm, more than 100,000 copies of the system were already downloaded since its launch. Also, more than 35,000 drivers use it daily, and some 7 million journeys have been logged and analyzed on the dedicated website.
It is worth noting that the software will cover a broad range of applications on Fiat cars (500, 500C, Grande Punto, Punto Evo, Bravo, Croma, Qubo, New Doblò) and Fiat Professional commercial vehicles (Grande Punto Van, Punto Evo Van and Fiorino).
