The new system will also make future CNG-powered trucks ideal for regional and long-distance transportation. This is profitable for carriers, because the 188 liters of natural gas that a truck uses per 100 kilometers cost about 27 euros, while the minimum of 28 liters consumed by a diesel truck over a distance of 100 kilometers cost about 37 euros.
In turn, carbon emissions are 70 percent lower, as natural gas contains almost no components that generate pollutants and burns in a non-polluting and environmentally friendly manner. Besides, with its CNG trailer the German company provides an additional innovation that reduces much more CO2 than any aerodynamic optimization.
Fast and simple coupling of the trailer to the truck is performed by using a special connection plug system, which operates in a plug-and-play manner. The CNG modules can slide out to facilitate simple operation and maintenance.
