Hexagon Composites wholly-owned subsidiary has been awarded a new order from Iveco s.p.a. for the delivery of 350 CNG fuel systems for city buses to the Municipality of Astana. These Iveco Citelis will be the first buses with Type 4 composite cylinders in the country.
For Hexagon, Kazakhstan represents a new market. The country owns large reserves of energy resources and has started to develop its own NGV industry. The main market driver is local availability and the low gas price relative to conventional fuel.
Iveco Bus has been selected by the Kazakh authorities to renew the fleet of public transportation vehicles for the World Expo to be held in Kazakhstan in 2017 under the theme “Energy of the Future.”
“These buses will play a major role in the upcoming World Expo 2017. Our technology will provide significant savings and reliability for the bus fleet operator and passengers. We look forward to introducing our technology in the promising Kazakh market”, said Milosz Szymaniak, Sales Manager at Hexagon Raufoss.
