Patana confirmed that investment in the fleet will involve 78 million bolivianos (about USD 11.3 million) and is similar to the project proposed by the city of La Paz, Página Siete reported today.
According to statements made by the Director of Planning, Regulation and Transportation Development of the municipality, Ernesto Machicado, El Sariri bus will operate on natural gas, will have 280 HP and be 12.40-meter long.
“We are working on the study of the exclusive lane corridor. The distance covered will be from north to south of the city. The public transport system will cross the two main avenues, 6 de Marzo and Juan Pablo II,” Machicado added. The buses will be also monitored by a satellite system and will be in service 24 hours a day.
