These buses are part of a 200 CNG vehicle fleet that KGP Almaty Electrotrans (AET) plans to introduce with the aim of improving urban transport service. The municipal public transport company, one of the bus operators servicing the city, will complete the delivery of buses by April.
As it was reported by the portal Bioenergy, the government of this country has a project to develop CNG market which follows a request from president Nursultan Nazarbayev, who had asked for a natural gas study in the nation. It was made by BG Group, which recommended the development of a natural gas vehicle market in partnership with the natural gas company KazTransGas.
“We congratulate BG Group and their Kazakh partners for this important milestone in the development of the world’s newest natural gas vehicle market and hope to be able to continue to support them as the market grows in 2011 and beyond”, said managing director of CNG Services, John Baldwin.
